There Are No Words…

The sheer violence committed in Sandy Hook Elementary has left me nearly speechless since I read about it.

Out of all the other stories of violence reported in recent times, it is the only one that brought tears to my eyes and overwhelmed me with sadness.  Sadness for all the lives lost.  Sadness for their families.  Sadness for the fact that it could have been prevented.

As a mother of a teen and an infant, the thought of losing either of them hurts my heart to no end.  I am supposed to pass before they do.  The amount of pain the children’s parents are feeling is unfathomable to the rest of us.

I pray for expedient solace for the families of those killed, but especially for the parents who have to bury their children during the holiday season.

This latest incident is a stark reminder that such heinous acts can occur anywhere at any time and that no place is safe.  We have to cherish those we love every day and let them know how much we love them.

With a somber mood, I bid everyone a good day
